Birth & Postpartum
Support
Who am I?
Izzy is a birth and postpartum doula. They are currently in nursing school working to become a midwife. They finished Birth Doula training with Warm Welcome Birth Services in March 2023, where they learned all about pregnancy, birth, and ways to support families and individuals during pregnancy, labor, and immediate postpartum.
Izzy is dedicated to supporting birthers in having the birth experience they want and need- whatever that looks like. If you’re planning an unmedicated birth in a tub, great! If you’re counting on an epidural, awesome! Izzy is here for it, however it goes. They are dedicated to helping people in birthing bodies to feel as supported as they can throughout the challenging sensations and emotions of pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
As a queer, trans, and non-binary birth doula, Izzy plans to provide loving support to all different styles of families – first time birthers and those who’ve already given birth, queer and poly families, single parents, etc. Their hope is to act as a guardian of embodiment for birthers and their supporters so that the birth space can be one of safety, coziness, and empowerment.
A note on how Izzy moves through the world and the lenses through which they have experienced it.
Izzy is a White, Ashkenazi jew. They grew up the child of an Internal Medicine doctor, and have a level of comfort in medicalized spaces not afforded to many. They are dedicated to continually decolonizing the way they think about medicine and health, as well as educating themself on how best to support those who are subjected to the systemic racism, fat phobia, and transphobia of the medical industrial complex.
